Environmental Project Manager - NEPA and wetlands

Some of our recent projects include the $600 million award-winning Kicking Horse Canyon in British Columbia, $500 million I-64 High Rise Bridge and Southside Widening in Virginia, the over $1 billion Intercounty Connector Segments A and B in Maryland, and the Soapstone Connector Road EIS in Virginia. Our current projects include the $5 billion Georgia State Route 400 Express Lanes and locally the Route 15 Braddock Road Roundabout project in Loudoun County. Our environmental support services are offered to clients, including transportation departments in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and Georgia, WMATA and Amtrak and Federal departments and agencies, including Labor, DOT, FAA, FRA, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and other federal departments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and build relationships with clients and agency counterparts
- Identify potential pursuits and assist with proposal development
- Manage NEPA compliance projects, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Environmental Assessments (EA), and Categorical Exclusions (CE)
- Serve as the environmental lead on major projects
- Conduct thorough environmental analyses and assessments to identify potential impacts and mitigation measures
- Cookordination with federal, state, and local agencies, stakeholders, and the public to ensure effective communication and collaboration
- Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and stakeholders
- Prepare and review technical documents, reports, and presentations
- Ensure all projects comply with NEPA regulations and other environmental laws
- Help apply for, obtain and monitor project permits and environmental compliance
- Stay current with changes in environmental regulations and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field (master’s degree desirable)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental planning and NEPA compliance
- Proven experience in leading and managing NEPA projects
- Experience working with local transportation agencies such as VDOT, DDOT, MDOT, and Prince George's, Montgomery, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple staff and projects simultaneously
- Prior team leadership/staff management experience is desirable
- Professional certifications such as AICP, PWS, CPSEC, CEP, or PMP are a plus

$125,100.00 - $225,200.00
