Job Overview
APTIM's Dallas, Texas office is seeking a full-time Environmental Project Manager with expertise in managing and executing environmental projects, particularly those funded by and/or regulated under the TCEQ Superfund program. This role requires a minimum of six years of experience managing Superfund projects or similar-sized and complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Serves as primary and direct contact to clients, subcontractors, and company staff on their projects.
- Supervises all activities at project sites.
- Prepares proposals, work plans, drilling, sampling, assessment, remediation, health and safety, and other reports.
- Procures subcontractors, materials, and supplies necessary for project performance.
- Reviews all deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance with client contract requirements.
- Implements and oversees the technical and administrative execution of projects, ensuring adherence to technical requirements and approved budgets and work orders.
- Manages project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Verifies data quality control procedures.
- Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, client policies, and other external work requirements.
- Possesses TCEQ CAPM registration and signs required documents as CAPM, or obtains licensure within six months of hiring.
- Involves other licensed APTIM professionals in projects where necessary, such as PG, PE, CHMM, etc.
- Provides technical support to clients in various work scopes, including environmental planning and permitting, community relations, environmental site characterization, monitoring, regulatory reporting, Phase I and Phase II due diligence, and residential and commercial construction.
- Conducts work independently or as part of a project team and adjusts to rapidly changing site conditions or client requirements.
- Adheres to established health and safety policies and procedures, and executes work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Manages own schedule and balances multiple priorities to meet project targets and deadlines.
- Utilizes best practices and knowledge of internal and external business systems to improve products or services as a collaborative member of the APTIM team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any Physical Science, Natural Science, or Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 6 years of applicable experience as the primary manager in the planning and implementation of Superfund RI, removal actions, remedial actions, and similarly complex projects.
- Certification as Professional Project Manager may substitute for two of the required years of experience.
- Must be able to provide detailed reference projects and client references to demonstrate this experience.
- Must possess registration with the TCEQ as a Corrective Action Project Manager (CAPM), or be able to obtain this registration within six months of employment start date.
- Must be able to demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in leaking petroleum storage tank rules, guidance documents, and contaminants.
- Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations in accordance with ASTM Standards.
- Experience working in Texas sites, climates, and geologic environments required.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Current HAZWOPER certification.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and scientific computer programs preferred.
