Environmental Project Manager

APTIM's Dallas, Texas office is seeking a full-time Environmental Project Manager with expertise in managing and executing environmental projects, particularly those funded by or regulated under the TCEQ Superfund program. This role requires a verified understanding of TRRP, CERCLA, and RCRA, along with demonstrated experience metrics as mandated by client contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary and direct contact for clients, subcontractors, and company staff on assigned projects.
• Supervise all activities at project sites, including field installation of environmental soil borings, monitoring wells, and remediation systems.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, drilling, sampling, assessment, remediation, health and safety, and other reports.
• Assign and review project deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance with client contract requirements.
• Procure subcontractors, materials, and supplies necessary for project performance.
• Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to technical requirements and approved funding.
• Verify data quality control procedures and ensure timely, complete, and correct invoicing.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, client policies, and external work requirements.
• Hold or obtain TCEQ Corrective Action Project Manager (CAPM) registration within six months of hiring and sign required documents as CAPM.
• Involve other licensed APTIM professionals (e.g., PG, PE, CHMM) in projects as necessary.
• Provide technical support for environmental planning, permitting, community relations, site characterization, monitoring, regulatory reporting, and due diligence.
• Conduct work independently or as part of a team, adapting to rapidly changing site conditions or client requirements.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and execute work safely.
• Manage personal schedule and balance multiple priorities to meet project targets and deadlines.
• Utilize best practices and knowledge of internal/external business systems to improve products and services collaboratively.
• Perform fieldwork, desktop communication, analysis, and reporting, with occasional overnight travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science, Natural Science, or Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as the primary manager in planning and implementing Superfund RI, removal actions, remedial actions, or similarly complex projects.
• Certification as a Professional Project Manager may substitute for two years of required experience.
• Must provide detailed reference projects and client references to demonstrate required experience.
• TCEQ Corrective Action Project Manager (CAPM) registration or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• At least 3 years of experience with leaking petroleum storage tank rules, guidance documents, and contaminants.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed with occasional overnight stays.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and manage multiple priorities/deadlines.
• Experience working in Texas sites, climates, and geologic environments.

Preferred qualifications include current HAZWOPER certification, experience with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, scientific computer programs, and conducting Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments per ASTM Standards.

Pay

As of this posting, the estimated pay range for this position is $125,000 to $140,000 per year. Compensation depends on experience, education, key skills, geographic location, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity.
