About the role
This role involves conducting various types of building assessments, such as Property Condition Assessments, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos/lead/radon sampling, seismic reports, structural surveys, roofing surveys, ADA checklists, and more. The Project Assessor will also travel to client project sites across the U.S., often requiring overnight stays.
Responsibilities
- Conducts client-facing on-site assessments and prepares detailed written reports.
- Reviews previous assessment reports and historical records to identify property and surrounding use.
- Communicates with local Building, Zoning, and Fire Departments to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Owns communication with the leadership team and provides updates on project progress.
- Conducts physical surveys of building equipment, structures, and systems, documenting findings and preparing reports.
- Interviews property owners, tenants, and service providers to gather necessary information.
- Provides photographic documentation and uses information from assessments to write comprehensive reports.
- Leverages professional expertise to develop project plans and assess technical needs based on project specifics.
- Reviews pertinent property records and documents, including lease literature, repair reports, and maintenance logs.
- Manages multiple stakeholders and ensures accurate reporting and documentation.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area and complies with all procedures and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of related experience or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Preferred certifications include AHERA, Asbestos Inspector, or OSHA-40-hour certification.
- Proficiency in operating computers, tablets, and project management software.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as walking, standing, sitting, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
