About the role
This role involves conducting various types of building assessments, such as Property Condition Assessments, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, asbestos/lead/radon sampling, seismic reports, structural surveys, roofing surveys, ADA checklists, and more. The Project Assessor will also travel to client project sites across the US.
Responsibilities
- Conducts client-facing on-site assessments and prepares written reports describing onsite assessment findings.
- Reviews previous assessment reports, historical and regulatory records, and reports data in accordance with ASTM criteria and client’s scope of work.
- Communicates with local Building, Zoning, and/or Fire Departments to ensure compliance with any outstanding violations.
- Owns communication with the leadership team and keeps them informed of project progress and any issues.
- Conducts physical surveys of building equipment and systems, structures, and foundations, and prepares written reports based on observations and data.
- Interviews property owners, tenants, service providers, and local government officials to gather information.
- Provides photographic documentation of the site and uses information from the assessment to write detailed reports.
- Leverages professional and technical expertise to develop project plans and assess outcomes.
- Reviews pertinent property records and documents, and provides guidance on project-specific needs.
- Manages multiple stakeholders and ensures project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field.
- Minimum of three years of related experience, or five years of related experience and/or training in lieu of a degree.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current AHERA, Asbestos Inspector Certification, or OSHA-40-hour certification preferred.
