About the Role

The Environmental Permitting Specialist will work on various gas and electric projects, supporting environmental permitting efforts. This role involves wetland delineations, preparing environmental permitting packages for submittals to NJDEP & PADEP for various types of permits, and submitting road opening and PENNDOT permits.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters to deliver cost-effective and high-quality infrastructure solutions.
  • Perform wetland delineations and GPS survey of flagging.
  • Prepare wetland data forms, wetland reports, and wetland impact plans.
  • Prepare erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Assist in compiling environmental permitting packages for CAFRA, WD, Freshwater & Coastal Wetland Impacts, ACOE, and Tidelands.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with NJDEP and PADEP environmental regulations and submittal requirements.
  • Prepare PENNDOT permitting packages.
  • Submit PA1 call tickets.
  • Willingness to learn other aspects of the business.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in civil engineering or environmental permitting.
  • 2 years of experience with AutoCAD in the Civil and/or Environmental Engineering environment.
  • 2 years minimum experience in the Civil and/or Environmental Engineering industry.
  • Experience with environmental permitting regulations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Regional travel required as needed for the job.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for the past 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NJDEP environmental permitting experience.
  • PADEP environmental permitting experience.
  • Prior experience with Civil 3D.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 50 pounds, and, in general, being physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
