About the role

We are seeking a Permit Coordinator to join our Environmental Sciences/Planning group based out of our Orlando, FL office. This position may support a wide variety of clients including the Florida's Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Program, working as an "extension of staff" in the client's'office in Ocoee, FL (metro Orlando area).

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate clients' coordination with regulatory resource agencies in obtaining environmental permits for delivery of clients' work programs.
  • Perform environmental project tasks for assigned transportation projects related to all required environmental documentation (NEPA, PD&E, wetlands, listed species and environmental permitting), prioritized by clients' work programs.
  • Cook up with other consultant's design professionals and overall project team for accurate depiction of the natural environment on environmental permit applications, project reports, construction plans and to identify opportunities for avoiding and minimizing potential impacts.
  • Perform field investigations of project sites.
  • Document, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data on projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Prepare documentation and technical reports for coordination with state and federal agencies.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. or M.S. in a field of Environmental Sciences, or other relevant degree.
  • This level may be achieved by Environmental Scientists with minimum ten years' experience since Bachelor's degree, or seven years' experience with Master's degree.
  • Strong organizational, task and time management, deductive reasoning, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite of software.
  • Innovative recommendations to complex transportation project environmental permitting requirements.
  • Aptitude for maintaining a professional attitude and attention to detail while working alone and within a team environment.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with GIS and/or remote sensing technologies.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with environmental permitting and compliance.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.

Pay

Expected compensation range is between $82,200 - $137,100 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Schedule

This position offers a work schedule of 5 days/week in-office.
