About the role
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for general environmental monitoring testing following written procedures and the execution of written protocols with limited supervision. Various support tasks through the department assigned on an as-needed basis. Limited sample preparation, glassware cleaning, sample disposal and cleaning.
Responsibilities
- Routine use of computer applications, primarily Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel)
- Moderate use of basic lab equipment (i.e., balances, stir plates, hotplates, baths, etc.) and instrumentation (i.e., meters, spectrophotometers, balances, etc.)
Qualifications
- At least an Associate's degree in microbiology or other relevant subject. High school diploma with previous GMP environmental monitoring/microbiology work experience would be considered
- Strong aseptic technique
- Ability to be on your feet for 4+ hours at a time
- Ability to lift or move 20lbs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
- Attention to detail
- Proactive, self-starter with problem solving and multitasking skills
Schedule
Part-time position, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with potential overtime or flexed hours as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cary, NC are encouraged to apply.
