Environmental Laboratory Chemist

About the role

ACZ Laboratories, Inc. is an environmental testing laboratory located in Steamboat Springs, CO. Founded in 1980, ACZ Laboratories is an accredited environmental testing laboratory with inorganic, organic, and radiochemical capabilities. We specialize in the analysis of trace-level contaminants in water, soil, sediment, sludge, waste, biota, and tissue.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate and timely environmental sample analysis
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and quality standards
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments
• Document, review and report test results
• Support laboratory safety and environmental protection

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a hard science, with preference for chemistry, environmental science, or geology
• Previous laboratory experience in a professional or academic setting (e.g. laboratory component of a Chemistry class)
• Previous experience in an environmental lab or analytical chemistry role is highly desirable
• Proficiency in laboratory instruments and techniques relevant to environmental analysis is desirable
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to sit, stand for long periods of time (2-6 hours), lift 25-50 pounds

Pay

The Pay Range For This Role Is 23.50 - 26 USD per hour(Steamboat Springs)
