Environmental Chemist

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental data validation (EPA Stage 2/3 or equivalent)
• Develop and maintain Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), Work Plans, and QA/QC documentation
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of laboratory data (blanks, spikes, duplicates, qualifiers)
• Cook with methods, detection limits, and data issues
• Career with chain-of-custody, sample tracking, and lab deliverables
• Support data management systems (e.g., EQuIS or similar)
• Provide input on data quality, usability, and interpretation
• Aid with technical reports, tables, and data summaries

Requirements

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or related field
• Required: 3+ years of hands-on experience in Environmental data validation, QAPP/QA/QC processes, Analytical laboratory coordination
• Required: Experience with environmental data systems (e.g., EQuIS or similar)
• Required: Strong knowledge of analytical methods and QA/QC standards
• Preferred: 5+ years of environmental consulting experience
• Preferred: DOE/DOD project experience; familiarity with CERCLA/RCRA
• Preferred: Experience with EQuIS or similar platforms
• Preferred: PFAS or emerging contaminant experience
• Preferred: GIS (ArcGIS) experience
• Preferred: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification

Qualifications

• Preferred: Master’s degree
