About the role

The Environmental Lab Technician position at Hollandia Dairy requires a candidate with a strong understanding of aseptic protocols and the ability to collect and test samples for allergens, milk quality, and environmental hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Collect allergen rinse water during milk-to-juice days and use ATP swabs for daily sanitation verifications.
  • Quarterly collect and prepare environmental swab samples for micro testing.
  • Conduct daily pre-operational logs and communicate corrective actions to production supervisors.
  • Participate in monthly and yearly internal audits of the production facility.
  • Collect wastewater samples and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Verify production batch records for specifications and traceability.
  • Manage lab inventory supplies and track environmental swab trends.
  • Assist in food safety and quality projects.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, logging data onto computers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, work as part of a team, maintain a clean/sanitary/safe work area.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of math skills, computer, reading/interpreting documents, writing routine reports/correspondence.
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • English language proficiency required.
  • Previous lab experience preferred but not required.

Work Environment

  • Occasionally exposed to humid conditions.
  • Noisy environment except when on the production floor.
