Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, Professional II
About the role
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist, II is responsible for the technical work in a wide range of EHS disciplines to achieve compliance with the organization’s federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. These responsibilities include coordinating directly with facilities representatives, site leaders or plant managers but works under direction of regional / geographic EHS staff toward predetermined goals and objectives. This role also assists in implementing and standardizing Environmental, Health and Safety efforts across all designated sites.
Responsibilities
- Measures and reports EHS performance, operational resource efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions, hazardous waste, energy consumption, and safety information for the designated region to assigned regional lead
- Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards or conditions in the workplace and its associated operations
- Congrates and coordinates with contracted services including contractors, suppliers & subcontractors
- Interfaces with local leadership, key external organizations or regulatory bodies within or related to site, business, sub-region or country
- Affords assessments of environmental and workplace conditions, incident reports, and recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment that are identified as deficient
- Supports the completion of corrective actions
- Anticipates, analyzes, monitors, and prevents EHS hazards that could be present in the work area
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience required
Preferred Skills And Qualifications
- Understanding stakeholder expectations and be able to balance competing priorities
- Analytics, able to solve EHS problems of moderate complexity where analyses of situations or data are required
- Collaborative, ability to gain cooperation of others
- Conducting presentations to gain acceptance and share ideas or tactical direction
- Demonstrated current knowledge of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 14001 & 45001) Standards and general EHS requirements imposed and by the organization and government agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and SharePoint
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
- OSHA and ISO certifications (14001/45001) preferred

Pay
$68,400.00 - $102,600.00 Annual Incentive Compensation In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 5% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Salary Offered
Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs.
