About the role

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in Anaheim, CA. This role manages facility EH&S programs to ensure a safe, environmentally responsible workplace and to build an engaged safety culture by implementing safety programs that provide the roadmap to zero injuries and world-class performance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor safe working conditions by having a strong floor presence
  • Develop, manage, and maintain EH&S programs to include improvement, prevention, and compliance
  • Drive environmental programs related to air, waste, and wastewater
  • Lead incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action plans
  • Address unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and environmental risks and evaluate the ensuing corrections
  • Evaluate and recommend safety solutions including changes in equipment and tools used in daily operations to reduce risk and improve ergonomic conditions; work directly with vendors to test equipment and justify purchases
  • Manage Safety Committee team, including providing guidance and direction, overseeing safety inspection process, creating content for monthly meetings, and ensuring prompt follow-up on all open safety task lists
  • Create, distribute, and monitor delivery of daily safety talks to department leads and supervisors and ensure associate participation and understanding of all materials
  • Implement and assess effectiveness of training programs required by federal and state EPA, ISO-14001, and OSHA regulations
  • Conduct/coordinate training in areas such as safety and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment throughout the organization and maintain records of training accordingly
  • Facilitate and lead safety training events, EH&S activities, process improvements, visual controls, and other ad hoc programs as appropriate
  • Manage initiatives to ensure ongoing ergonomic assessments, evaluations, and continuous improvement processes to reduce work/job-related trauma
  • Inspect facilities, machinery and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and to ensure safety regulation compliance
  • Ensure that EH&S compliance requirements are met by managing measurements and metrics, reporting, analysis, follow-up, and record-keeping as mandated
  • Align corporate and local EH&S goals and initiatives

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline, and/or equivalent experience is required

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety is required
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to pay close attention to detail are required
  • Competency in incident investigation and ability to conduct root cause analyses is required
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently is required
  • Ability to professionally communicate and interact at all levels within the organization is required
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and effectively with diverse teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required
  • Must be able to assemble, arrange, compute, and interpret data to create effective reports and business correspondence
  • Proficient understanding of applicable laws, regulations, nationally/state recognized standards and guidelines relating to specialized environmental health and safety functions as required by position is required

Pay & Benefits

Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 per year
