Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Support field operations through site inspection, safety compliance, and site investigation for incidents involving employees, material, and equipment damage.
- Communicate MEI EHS policies, guidelines, procedures, including regulatory changes and new business growth.
- Support MEI sites with all customers, OSHA required training (Site Specific, Protocol, OSHA, Forklift, etc.), and provide program, technical, and administrative support of management systems.
- Manage incidents and accident cases through investigations and root cause analysis, and coordinate with customers on safety initiatives.
- Develop, prepare, and instruct on safe work instructions, procedures, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
- Conduct daily audits and approvals of Pre-task plans, conduct routine inspections and observations, and address and document all safety violations.
- Provide ongoing safety and health related training and required certifications for existing employees, new hires, and sub-contractors.
- Participate in learning teams to develop more efficient processes/methods in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and assess conditions which could produce accidents and financial losses and evaluate the potential extent of resulting injuries.
- Work with the Region EH&S Manager on accident-prevention and loss-control systems and programs for incorporation into operational policies of the organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside firms and organizations such as vendors, OSHA, fire/police departments, etc.
Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)
- Qualified to recognize safety hazards;
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED;
- Current OSHA 30-hour Construction Card, updated every two years;
- Academic degree in safety or minimum of three (3) years of full-time construction safety management experience;
- At least one of the following safety certifications: ASP, CHST, or CSP;
- Minimum 5 years proven Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience or Safety experience in construction or manufacturing industries at a multi-site organization;
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with OSHA standards;
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)
- Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) preferred;
- Possess OSHA 500 (Authorized Construction Outreach Trainer);
- Datacenter experience is preferred;
- Three years of electrical safety experience on HV/MV systems;
- Five years of electrical experience;
- National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E or other local equivalent training.
