Responsibilities

• Evaluate chemical and physical hazards within the organization to ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA Laboratory Standard
• Review and update policies, procedures, and manuals
• Conduct physical inspections of laboratories, fume hoods, gas cylinders, chemicals, PPE practices, etc.
• Review chemical inventories, laboratory SOPs, training documentation, safety data sheets, inspection/audit findings
• Review IIP, EAP, chemical hygiene plan, job safety analysis, spill logs
• Review vendor contracts and waste manifests and chemical purchasing
• Research and recommend practical solutions for improvement of the program

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or a related field
• Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and policies and Cal OSHA laws and regulations
• Seven to 10 years of related experience
