Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure facility compliance with EPA, IDEM, and applicable local environmental regulations.
  • Manage environmental permits, including air permits, stormwater permits, and other applicable regulatory permits.
  • Prepare and submit environmental regulatory reports such as Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), and emissions reports.
  • Manage hazardous waste programs in accordance with RCRA regulations, including storage, labeling, manifesting, and vendor coordination.
  • Carry out internal environmental compliance inspections and audits.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during environmental regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain environmental records and compliance documentation.
  • Support and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO14002 Environmental Management System requirements.
  • Support environmental incidents, including spills, releases, and corrective actions.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in environmental compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, and hazardous waste.
  • Experience interacting with regulatory agencies preferred.
  • ISO 14001 experience preferred.

  • Ability to draw inferences, reach conclusions, arrive at solutions, and make decisions based on available evidence.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • The team member is occasionally required to stand and use hands, walk, bend, lift, or twist.
  • The team member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The team member is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • The team member must be able to lift a container of fasteners weighting up to 25 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
