About the role
The EHS Manager leads and supports field safety operations, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across all company divisions. They ensure construction activities comply with OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements, uphold ESI's safety programs and culture, and serve as a trusted advisor to project teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage safety on higher-value, more complicated projects; manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Mentor and train project team members including Interns, Project Engineers, and Project Managers in safety compliance and requirements.
- Lead and participate in ESI company and Divisional development of safety culture and efforts.
- Aid in preparing and participating in safety presentations for prospective project proposals.
- Reinforce and grow existing relationships through exemplary customer service to our teams.
- Maintain satisfied and loyal superintendent relationships.
- Aid subcontractors in ability to follow/work within/promote ESI safety culture on project sites; grow subcontractors' safety knowledge and performance.
- Assist in claim management of injured workers.
- Assist in return to work programs for injured workers.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated history of excellent safety culture and compliance management.
- Track record of process and safety improvement.
- High aptitude in training and developing other team members.
- Confidence in navigating and understanding all Federal OSHA standards and state and local safety requirements.
- Ability to manage a team of people to achieve specific project requirements, including Safety Leads and Safety Coordinators.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Capable of managing safety expectations on multiple projects simultaneously with contract values up to $1M, $1M to $3M each, or individual complex projects ranging from $10M to $40M.
- Ability to manage and be the point of contact for a specific ESI Division/program and develop relationships for safety culture within the division/program.
- Partner with legal team as needed to offer advice on incidents/case management.
