Position Summary

Performs Environmental, Health & Safety functions at the company plant, by performing the following duties. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct and assist in safety meetings
  • Coordinate and assist in training
  • Maintain the EHS platform (Gensuite)
  • Filing and recordkeeping of EHS documentation
  • Track all necessary training using the internal tracking system
  • Prepare necessary documents/packs for upcoming audits (e.g. OSHA/EPA)
  • Revise and update EHS policies and procedures
  • Affiliate with implementation of EHS Regional initiatives
  • Perform JSA, Risk Analysis, Investigations, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Perform EHS audits
  • Plant Environmental SPCC Plan Tank Inspections
  • Comply with AQMD permit
  • Stormwater and Industrial Wastewater sampling
  • Track of hazardous waste/disposal
  • Coordinate and assist in training

Required Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, OSHA/EPA regulations or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and Microsoft office proficient.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of vendors, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Experience & Education

Currently pursuing a degree in engineering/safety/EH&S or related field from an accredited institution. Must have completed 10+ credits with an average GPA of 3.0 or better.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
