Environmental/Health/Safety, Facilities, & Maintenance Co-op – US – Fall 2027

Help invent the future of flight, lift people up, and bring them home safely as a GE Aerospace intern/co-op! You'll build leadership and technical skills in a supply chain/manufacturing role, working on challenging, real-world problems and solve for what the world needs. You will build relationships with interns/co-ops and leaders, and prepare for a potential full-time position after graduation in one of our leadership programs or direct hire opportunity. Placement considers your preferences, major, year of schooling, and business needs. Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Protect the health and safety of GE Aerospace employees, the public, and the environment from hazards through EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) efforts, including industrial hygiene, hazard assessments, and risk abatement.
  • Manage environmental responsibilities such as wastewater management, hazardous/non-hazardous waste disposal, air regulations, and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Address ergonomics and safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Understand and apply EHS management systems and frameworks.
  • Coach employees and teams to develop sustainable processes and structures to meet all EHS requirements.
  • Support sustainability efforts related to wastewater and air in manufacturing processes.
  • Promote occupational health and wellness.
  • Work in a fast-paced shop floor environment around various machine tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale.
  • Attending a full-time registered and nationally accredited bachelor or graduate program in one of the following majors:
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Environmental Health and Safety or related
    • Environmental Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Facilities / Maintenance
    • Occupational Safety and Health
    • Or any relevant or similar major.
  • Willingness and ability to work in any of the 35+ GE Aerospace U.S. locations.
  • Reliable transportation, as many sites do not have public transportation available.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas for this job opening.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; employment is contingent upon proving U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee, or refugee).
