Responsibilities
- Execution of EHS programs and procedures including but not limited to lockout tagout, confined space entry, mobile equipment safety, hazard communication, emergency response, working at heights and crane & rigging safety with an emphasis on Safety and Accident Prevention for your areas of responsibility.
- Continual improvement and sustainability initiatives that reduce waste and drive improvements to meet enterprise and business unit EHS objectives and targets.
- Ensure EHS Regulatory Compliance by consistently evaluating existing programs and procedures while monitoring emerging rules and interpretations.
- Execution of applicable EHS management systems which includes Corporate EHS Directives and conformance to ISO 14001 and 45001.
- Aid in EHS training program for applicable EHS trainings across your areas of responsibility and support the business unit trainings as needed.
- Coordinate EHS corrective actions from EHS/customer audits, regulatory inspections, industrial accidents, and other assessments, apart from environmental remediation.
- Manage management of change for your areas of responsibility which includes new processes, equipment, materials, and people.
- Foster the EHS culture within your areas of responsibility to drive employee engagement, a safe work environment, and injury and illness reduction.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders across your areas of responsibility by attending area department meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, etc.
- Ensure contractors are performing work safely and following EHS programs and procedures.
Qualifications
- Preferred 4-year bachelor's degree in a technical field such as EHS, engineering, or science.
- 5+ years of applicable EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- A good working knowledge of EHS regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and NFPA.
- Experience with sustainability improvement initiatives.
- EHS certifications such as an OSHA 10/30, CSP, CIH etc. is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to influence people at all levels.
- Comprehend and interpret applicable EHS requirements and translate them into the business language for clear understanding by the Department Managers and employees.
- Learn and understand the business.
- Strong process skills for standardization, continuous improvement and program management.
- A passion for EHS and able to translate into practical action.
- Good problem-solving skills and experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move around work sites, which may include walking, standing, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- A valid driver’s license to be able to travel between satellite Wisconsin facilities to support their EHS initiatives.
- Flexibility to bend, kneel, or crouch, particularly when inspecting installations or troubleshooting.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weights, typically up to 50 pounds, as some equipment and materials might be heavy.
- Ability to work in various environments, including offices, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various job sites, which may require driving or other forms of transportation.
