Essential Job Functions
- Create and update Hazardous Material Inventory Statements (HMIS) and any other related materials required by local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Maintain regulatory calendar to ensure all required environmental reports and filings are submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintain the Risk Management safety & environmental database to track regulatory activities throughout the company.
- Provide OSHA, EPA or other regulatory agency inspection responses prior to deadlines.
- Cook up waste stream collections from both DC and store locations (used oil, hazardous waste, e-Waste, Retail Waste Bucket Program, etc).
- Monitor and research store and distribution center (DC) safety and environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure they comply with all current environmental and safety regulations.
- Aid stores and DC operations with environmental questions and programs (refrigerant sales, waste disposal, etc).
- Monitor the company-wide hazardous waste process and implement process improvement plans.
- Supervise monthly waste pick up at distribution centers and submit required manifest reporting to state agencies.
- Implement improvements to reduce wastes and effectively control waste disposal costs.
- Track environmental exposures resulting from accident/loss, such as vehicle accident, floods, fires, spills, etc.
- Support all company safety, environmental and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Monitor all EHS programs and processes to ensure their efficient and effective usage.
- Work with corporate management and team members in other risk management areas as assigned.
- Process fire protection certifications, inspections and handle vendor invoices.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
- Excellent time management skills
