This position provides basic administrative support to the Risk Management and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams. The student assistant will assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Responsibilities
- Risk Management and EHS support: Assist with team projects.
- Administrative tasks: Handle filing, scanning, copying, data entry, and similar duties.
- Provide general office support: Answer phones, greet visitors, and maintain office organization.
- Obtain defensive driving certification for golf cart operation.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Admission or registration as a CSU student.
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
- Eligible to work in the United States; must provide a Social Security Card for payroll.
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work, follow oral instructions, and work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students.
- Effective communication skills and ability to read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Pay
Anticipated hiring range: $16.90 per hour. Compensation will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Schedule
- Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
- Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
This is a part-time, temporary, seasonal, on-campus-only position. Student employees are not eligible to telecommute.
Conditions of Employment
- Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required; employees will be enrolled in the DMV Government Employer Pull Notice Program.
- Applicants must disclose any final administrative or judicial decision determining they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years after meeting minimum qualifications and before an offer of employment is extended.
- Applicants in the final stages of the process must sign a release form authorizing the release of information concerning substantiated allegations of misconduct by current or former employers.
