Job Summary

General Responsibilities (but Not Limited To)

  • Support compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Aid in compliance reviews, risk assessments, and other safety evaluations to support EHS management systems.
  • Maintain required EHS documentation, logs, and reports.
  • Prepare and submit EHS-related reports as required.
  • Lead incident investigations and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Promote incident prevention initiatives to protect employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Aid in the development and delivery of EHS training programs.
  • Observe and enforce safe work practices, correct hazards when identified, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Foster a positive safety culture and support behavioral-based safety initiatives.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Comply with all TTX policies, procedures, and EHS requirements.

Facility Specific Responsibilities (but Not Limited To)

  • Provide regular onsite EHS support at HAMB and ACRN, including a minimum of one week per month at ACRN.
  • Conduct and coordinate daily and monthly EHS meetings and training sessions.
  • Implement and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures at the facility level.
  • Perform facility EHS inspections, including those outlined in the inspection schedule below.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company EHS requirements.
  • Maintain all required EHS records and documentation (e.g., inspections, training logs, VOC/HAP records, SDS/MSDS systems) including SharePoint systems.
  • Evaluate and ensure proper use, maintenance, and selection of PPE.
  • Oversee hazardous waste storage areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform stormwater discharge sampling and documentation.
  • Support emergency response activities and provide first aid when required.
  • Administer EHS programs such as Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Hot Work, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Aid in the development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain safety programs including Safety Incentives and Daily Safety Briefings (DSBs).
  • Maintain site safety postings and regulatory information on bulletin boards.
  • Travel up to 50% as required to support other locations.
  • Perform or ensure the following inspections are completed at both HAMB and ACRN:
    • Weekly Containment Area Inspections
    • Hazardous Waste Inspections
    • Monthly Fire Extinguisher Inspections
    • Paint Inspections
    • Quarterly Chain Sling Inspections
    • Fall Arrest Equipment Inspections
    • Stormwater Discharge Inspections
    • Stormwater Housekeeping Inspections
    • AED Inspections
    • Tank Farm and Bulk Storage Inspections
    • Semi-Annual Spill Kit Inspections and Maintenance
    • Shelter-in-Place Kit Inspections
    • Annual Ladder Inspections
  • Coordinate vendor-required annual inspections.
  • Administer forklift certifications (new hires and 3-year renewals).
  • Administer annual respirator fit testing.
  • Coincide monthly hazardous waste pickups.
  • Coordinate quarterly site evacuation drills.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field, or five (5) years of EHS experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive safety culture.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and travel up to 50%.

Physical Job Requirements

  • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit (remain stationary) and climb or balance.
  • The employee is regularly required to move about (walk and stand).
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or transport up to 25 pounds.
  • Correctable vision is required for close, distance, or depth perception capabilities, and the ability to adjust focus (the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
