About the role

PCSI is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee environmental, health, and safety programs for preventive maintenance and work order activities on our Detroit Tank Arsenal (DTA) contract.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor site environmental programs by conducting environmental audits and inspections and maintain compliance data to ensure site activities meet applicable regulations and contract requirements.
  • Manage site safety programs, incident response, medical safety requirements, and job hazard controls in line with EM385 standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to leadership and staff to support a safe, compliant work environment for PCSI employees and subcontracted work.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years’ experience managing a safety program in accordance with MIOSHA or EM385.1.1 standards.
  • Experience in Michigan environmental management (including hazardous materials, hazardous waste, air emissions management and storm water management).
  • Experience in testing microbial contamination, environmental pollutants, and remediation plans.
  • 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Training.
  • OSHA 30hr Construction or General Industry Certification.
  • Certified Michigan Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor.
  • Certified Michigan Construction Storm Water Operator (CSWO).
  • Certified Michigan Class B Underground Storage Tank (UST) Operator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred.
  • 3 years’ leadership experience preferred.
  • OSHA 501 or 502 accreditation preferred.
  • Hazardous Materials Inspector and Risk Assessor certification preferred.
  • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Part 106: An Introduction, 18-Hour Training Seminar preferred.
  • Legionella Water Safety and Management training certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Good working knowledge of governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines and industry standards surrounding environmental, and safety standards.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of individual case problems, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established company and government guidelines.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Attention-to-detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
