Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s Global Workplace organization provides all corporate real estate functions and delivers a workplace experience designed to attract, retain, enable, and inspire employees. The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, facilitating, and implementing EHS programs to proactively reduce risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and prevent liabilities. This role also manages HPE’s ISO 14001 and 45001 programs for the Chippewa Falls Manufacturing facility and supports sites in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and Bloomington, Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Track, review, consult, and implement EHS regulations from country, state/province, and local authorities for all work activities, including customer sites and mobile environments.
• Communicate with and provide reports to regulatory authorities, internal partners, and customers.
• Direct and facilitate audits, identify training needs, and lead efforts in preventative injury management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, occupational health risks, and environmental strategies.
• Perform financial and risk analysis to determine strategies for programs such as emergency preparedness, chemical management, ergonomics, and hearing conservation.
• Work with Sedgwick workers compensation and Business Resilience to manage workers compensation cases.
• Accountable for EHS costs, including forecasting and achieving budgets.
• Perform specialized functions in safety engineering, health risk assessments, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, emerging technologies, and environmental regulations.
• Support ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications by participating in internal and external audits and maintaining applicable documentation.
• Manage an emergency response team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in an EHS field with a focus on environmental, occupational, or safety.
• ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Auditor Certification recommended.
• First-level university degree in a related science field recommended; advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of legislation and company regulations across multiple states, particularly in a highly specialized field.
• Broad and specialized technical abilities in EHS.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Excellent supplier management capability.
• Advanced computer and analytic skills.
• Excellent project and program management skills; proven ability to coordinate multiple large projects or programs.
• Strong understanding of program costs and financial impacts.
• Superior understanding of environmental, health, and safety programs, especially at the local/site level.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and strategic partners.
• Demonstrated experience conducting EHS compliance audits.
• Experience addressing ergonomic risks in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Pay

Annual base salary range for this position in Wisconsin: USD 92,600 - 213,500. Variable incentives may also be offered.
