Environmental Health and Safety Associate Manager

We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Associate Manager to join our rapidly growing team in SoCal. The role is an onsite position eventually in Long Beach, CA (will be in HQ – Costa Mesa, CA for at least the first year).

Responsibilities

• Aid in accident/incident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventative actions.
• Serve as EHS interface and liaison with employees, managers, customers, auditors and regulators.
• Identify workplace safety hazards and conditions for job-related tasks by performing and documenting safety inspections.
• Collaborate with other departments to guide, teach, and influence safe behaviors in the workplace.
• Responsible for hazardous waste management, including proper handling, labeling, and storage.
• Navigate and ensure compliance with safety programs and standards including: hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, lockout/tag-out (LOTO), machine guarding, power & hand-held tools, electrical, emergency response, and chemical management.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience implementing and overseeing environmental, health and safety programs.
• Experience in Cal/OSHA.
• Experience in 40 CFR Parts 260-279 Hazardous Waste Management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective at engaging with leadership, regulators, front-line staff, and third-party partners.
• Ability to manage multiple activities/projects and deadlines.
• U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled sites.

• Well-rounded ESH professional who is comfortable engaging across different levels in the organization.
• Manufacturing experience.
• Laser Safety Officer certification.
• High energy individual who craves the opportunity to build a system vs just manage one.
• Natural tendency towards challenging the status quo to find new and novel ways to improve EHS management systems.
• A person who leans into challenges instead of saying 'no' and walking away.

Pay

US Salary Range $112,000—$149,000 USD
