Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with multidisciplinary groups, including Business Leaders, Site Leaders, Regional HSE, Site HSE and technical personnel, to bring innovative solutions to reduce risk.
- Work with sites to oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of site procedures that assure personnel, contractor and facility compliance with regulatory and company requirements, including supporting the development and mentoring of site HSE personnel;
- Actively champion the collection, dissemination and execution of best-practice sharing within the region, acting as a change agent to identify, communicate and advance continuous improvement efforts that increase efficiency and reduce risks across sites;
- Lead regional high-risk work team as the technical subject matter expert for electrical safety, contractor and guest management, machine guarding, audit and assessment management, capital project management, air permitting, and additional safety or environmental programs as needed;
- Conduct facility HSE compliance audits, inspections and risk assessments, including active participation in corporate audits, and ensure timely follow-up on findings and recommendations;
- Support the preparation of HSE permits and reports to maintain regulatory compliance for operations and construction activities, including air permits, waste management, worker protection and Tier II reporting requirements;
- Provide technical and functional HSE support to capital projects, new equipment purchases, site expansions, mergers and acquisitions, divestments and expense spending related to site improvement plans, ensuring HSE considerations are embedded in decision-making and execution.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.A. or B.S. in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Management or a related field;
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive professional experience, or a master’s degree and 6 years of professional experience, related to HSE within the agricultural, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, research, healthcare or chemical industry;
- Technical experience and acumen with OSHA, EPA and state-specific requirements, with advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, state and consensus standards and working knowledge of applying these standards to agricultural manufacturing practices;
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all organizational levels, building trust and credibility with leaders, peers and frontline teams;
- Ability to be self-directed and manage projects with minimal guidance, consulting leaders or peers when faced with ambiguity and working by establishing trust, relationships and integrity;
- Ability to learn new software programs, analyze data and provide actionable insights to management, leveraging digital tools to enhance HSE performance and reporting;
- Professional HSE designation preferred (such as CSP, RSO, CIH, CHMM or similar) and experience implementing ISO-like HSE Management Systems.

- Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $ 112,320.00 - $168,480.00.
