Environmental Field Technician(Temporary)

About the role

This is a seasonal, non-exempt, hourly position located in Neah Bay, WA. The successful candidate will report to the company’s Environmental Operations Supervisor and must have prior construction or maritime experience. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable federal and state law.

Responsibilities

• Small vessel operation
• Skilled equipment operations including forklift, pump operations, hand tools (hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and gas-powered), and heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, and backhoes)
• Welding and cutting
• Oil spill response
• Deploying, retrieval, and processing of sorbent materials
• Boom deployment and retrieval
• Boom and fender maintenance
• Driving/positioning company vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver license, valid car insurance, and acceptable driving record for the past three years
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC Card
• Ability to work in all weather conditions (rain, sleet, storm, snow, heat, etc.)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
• 24/7 availability based upon project or emergency response needs

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in the maritime industry or construction industry
• First Aid/CPR certification
• HAZWOPER certification
• Current passport
• Washington state boater’s card (Boaters Card)
• USCG License
• TWIC Card

Pay

$60–$70 per hour
