Environmental Field Technician

About the role

The US East Environmental business of GHD is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to join their field team in Calvert City, KY. This position involves supporting various remediation and operations and maintenance (O&M) projects in the region.

Responsibilities

• Support operation of pump pulling units, pump installation, and troubleshooting
• Operate small backhoes and forklifts
• Perform welding and torch operations
• Ensure jobsite housekeeping
• Conduct groundwater monitoring and remediation system operation and maintenance tasks
• Collect soil and groundwater samples
• Assist clients during emergency response and remediation projects
• Participate in solutions analysis to find effective responses to routine inquiries
• Follow HSE policies and procedures to ensure safety and minimize environmental impact
• Develop and maintain technical skills through training and assessments
• Test and develop testing standards and procedures
• Ensure operational compliance with organizational policies and regulations
• Perform basic technical troubleshooting and assist in diagnostic actions

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Up to 3 years of environmental experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to perform field work 100% of the time
• Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight trips, as needed
• Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred (or must be able to obtain)
• OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER training a plus
