Environmental Field Technician

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of remediation and O&M projects throughout the region.
  • Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation systems, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Data collection, site inspections, and system performance sampling.
  • Field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, vapor, etc., in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Collection of detailed field notes and excellent oral communication.
  • Coordination with contractors and service providers and oversight of contractor activities.
  • Support and oversight to other field activities as needed.
  • Cordination with project team, local stakeholders, and clients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; College degree in environmental related field is a plus.
  • 5+ years of environmental field experience.
  • Good electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to perform field work and work overtime as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus.

Pay

$31.26 - $52.10, varies based on experience and location.

  • Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees.
  • GHD observes 9 holidays per year.
  • Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee.
  • Wellness Benefit - Full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to a maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, home exercise equipment purchases, bicycles, race, run & marathon entrance fees, smoking cessation programs, weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), fitbits and fitness tracking devices.
