Environmental Engineer / Geologist

About the role

Enhance and support ESP Associates, Inc.’s environmental consulting team throughout the Carolinas. Manage projects, budgets, and teams for both small and large complex sites. Scheduling, mentoring, and training of junior staff, as well as technical proposal and report preparation are responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage clients, projects, and budgets for both small and large complex sites
• Schedule, mentor, and train junior staff
• Prepare technical proposals and reports
• Ensure project technical success and profitability
• Develop client relationships
• Occasional out-of-town overnight travel may be required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Earth Sciences, or related program
• Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist license, or ability to obtain licensure
• 5+ years of environmental project management experience
• Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
• Able to travel as needed (estimated 10% overnight travel)

Qualifications

• Proficiency with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD, and Excel
• Expertise in field testing and sampling methodologies
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in due diligence, assessment, risk-based analysis, NEPA, Brownfields/VCC contracts, USTs, vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, and hazardous materials evaluations
