About the role
CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Group. This position offers recent graduates the opportunity to apply engineering skills to innovative and sustainable water projects while growing within a dynamic team. You will support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and associated infrastructure, ensuring compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, sewer systems, pipelines, and infrastructure under direct supervision.
- Conduct site assessments, adjust design parameters, and perform water quality analyses and modeling.
- Contribute to technical report preparation, documentation, and presentations for client meetings and industry conferences.
- Assist in creating documents and presentations using tools like ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other software.
- Participate in fieldwork supporting construction management activities, gaining comprehensive project lifecycle experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 0 years of experience (equivalent additional directly related experience may substitute for a degree).
- Basic knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles of design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Travel
Domestic and/or international travel may be required, typically 10% or less. The frequency of travel depends on specific duties, responsibilities, and project demands.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $64,813.00 to $106,954.00 USD, depending on geographic location, relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and education/training. All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
