Job Summary

The Environmental Coordinator will handle day-to-day operations of the Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance programs with a focus on air compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develops (personally or through contractors) environmental permits and reports as necessary.
  • Conducts routine site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Maintains accurate environmental records and databases, ensuring documentation is audit-ready at all times.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams (operations, engineering, EHS) to integrate environmental compliance into daily operations.
  • Aids in the creation, review, and updates of EHS policies, programs, processes, systems, training, and tools in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Stays current with federal, state, and local regulations and reporting requirements in relation to environmental compliance.
  • May be required to travel to HEP field locations to provide compliance support.

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledgeable about environmental regulations, permits, and reporting obligations.
  • Committed to staying informed about changing environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Skilled in identifying and addressing environmental compliance challenges.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once effectively.
  • Competent in identifying and evaluating environmental risks.
  • Familiar with occupational health and safety standards and practices.
  • Capable of leading and inspiring employees to focus on safety and environmental compliance.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 3 years’ experience working within the environmental and compliance field, preferably with an oil and gas company, midstream, refining/chemical plant, or environmental consulting.

Physical Demands and Hazards for Field Employees

  • This position may require occasional travel to remote sites.
  • Potential exposure to flammable materials.
  • Adherence to safety protocols.
  • Compliance with operating regulations.
  • Rigorous physical demands.
