Environmental Coordinator
About the role
The Facility Environmental Coordinator assists with the environmental compliance program at Georgia-Pacific's plywood plant and co-located lumber facility in Camden, TX. Reporting to the Complex Environmental Manager, this position involves assisting with day-to-day environmental compliance requirements, training personnel, and participating in strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation and submission of environmental permit applications and reports
- Oversee the implementation of Georgia-Pacific's (GP) environmental 7-element risk management system
- Communicate and demonstrate the connection between actions and GP's environmental vision to employees
- Support the continuous improvement of the facility's environmental management system
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Conduct inspections, collect samples, and monitor work performed by consultants
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, or Environmental Science
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Working knowledge of Texas and federal environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Experience performing air and water field work
- Prior or current experience working at Georgia-Pacific or Koch companies
