Skills
Completion of a bachelor degree in environmental science, biology, toxicology, chemistry, mathematics, or a related field or any combination of education and experience which provides 2 to 4 years of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Knowledge of Federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to wastewater;
Physical, chemical, and biological technologies as they relate to the analysis of water quality;
Basic principles and terminology of data processing;
Prepare and maintain records and documentation for compliance purposes;
Communicate effectively with others;
Monitor operations for compliance with environmental regulations;
Collect and analyze stormwater, wastewater, raw sewage, industrial discharge, septic waste, or other samples;
Work cooperatively with industries, commercial establishments, and municipal departments to attain compliance;
Ability to:
Analyze water and wastewater and interpret and report on results;
Read interpret technical reports, permits, Code of Federal Regulations, Municipal Ordinances, lab reports, and results from investigations;
Communicate information clearly and concisely;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Perform investigation and inspections;
Safely operate City of Lubbock vehicles.
