Environmental Attendant

Reports to: Custodial Supervisor

About the role

Provide custodial services for Falls Mills / AASC's office. Keeps buildings in clean and orderly condition. Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as operating motor-driven cleaning equipment, mopping floors, washing walls and glass. Perform routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs and additions.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums floors of the AASC’s central office and other sites as needed using cleaning solutions, tools and equipment.
• Cleans windows at front entrance daily.
• Cleans office windows both inside and outside as needed (weather permitted).
• Cleans area outside front and side entrances (especially cigarette butts) and empties trash receptacles daily.
• Gathers and empties trash containers in all areas daily.
• Cleans restrooms daily, including mopping and disinfecting.
• Cleans soiled carpets as requested.
• Cleans and mops all tile floors daily and buffs floors as needed.
• Cleans and polishes furniture as needed. Tasks are performed in accordance with a provided checklist.
• Assists in performing minor routine cleaning and related activities at agency facilities, including the Haysi Day Care Center.
• Drives vehicles, vans, or trucks to pick up supplies for repairs, vending machines, and moving items between sites.
• Sets up and arranges tables and chairs for agency events.
• May assist with cleaning in Senior Living Community.
• Tracks ordering of maintenance supplies.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in issues relating to the agency, clients, and employees.
• Performs other agency-related duties as assigned.
• Attends training as required.
• Demonstrates and maintains good ethics.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform custodial tasks.
• High School diploma preferred.

Skills

• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repairing.
• Good driving record.
