Environmental (Asbestos & Talc) Paralegal

About the role

This full-time ETT Paralegal position supports asbestos and/or toxic tort litigation. Candidates should have solid knowledge of litigation support, case management, discovery, trial preparation, and familiarity with Illinois and Federal rules of civil procedure.

Responsibilities

• Client contact and document review/production
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Indexing, exhibit preparation, investigation, and research
• Preparing and filing legal documents in Illinois federal and state courts
• Working independently on pleadings, discovery, motion preparation, document review, case management research, and trial support
• Managing court rules, calendaring, and e-filing procedures

Requirements

• At least 3 years of asbestos and/or toxic tort litigation experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with close attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 2016, Excel, and iManage
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, team-structured setting

Qualifications

Paralegal certification and a bachelor’s degree are pluses but not required.

Pay

Yearly salary range: $45,000 – $100,000. Actual salary offered will be based on relevant skills, training, experience, and location.
