About the role
We are seeking a mid-level Environmental and Regulatory Specialist to support our Salt Lake City office and continued growth throughout the Great Basin and Colorado Plateau regions. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside world-class experts on complex and impactful environmental projects, primarily within the mining, energy, and state and federal planning sectors.
Responsibilities
- Support field planning and fieldwork for geological, hydrological, and biological studies
- Manage environmental data collection and maintain resource data management systems
- Aid with the execution of federal, state, and local permitting and planning projects
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret technical data to support permit applications
- Collaborate with senior leadership on marketing and business development efforts
- Support expansion of services with new and existing clients, including preparation of technical proposals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably in consulting, mining, and/or energy sectors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of GIS and database management systems; CAD experience is a plus
- Experience interpreting maps and using GPS for field data collection
- Strong problem-solving abilities and emotional intelligence
- Business development experience or interest in supporting client development efforts; a “seller/doer” mindset
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to perform in fast-paced, demanding office and field environments
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills
Physical Requirements
- Clean driving record
- Willingness to accommodate routine travel, extended field assignments, and evolving project demands
- Hybrid or office-based work environment, with travel to project sites and client locations as needed (approx. 25-30%)
