Environmental Analyst
Job Summary
The City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department is seeking an Environmental Analyst to join the Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Division. This position requires a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, performing varied and complex technical tasks in support of ongoing activities and projects.
About the Role
Incumbents exercise regular and substantial independent judgment and procedural knowledge in performing work requiring interpretation of rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and guidelines. Programs include Water Quality, Wastewater Quality, Air Quality, Energy, and Waste Management.
Responsibilities
- NPDES/SCAQMD/CARB reporting, maintenance of databases
- Maintenance of personnel training
- Assisting in preparation of reports and permit applications
- Data collection, tabulation, and summarization for compliance determinations
- Interviewing people and collecting information to complete reports and documentation
- Identifying regulatory compliance issues
- Advising and assisting in preparation of job hazard analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemical, biological, or environmental sciences, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of experience in water, wastewater, or environmental science data review and report writing
- A valid California Class "C" driver's license
