Environment, Health and Safety Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage company-wide HSE policies, procedures, and site-specific safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable state regulations.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, JHAs, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
• Lead incident, near-miss, injury, and environmental investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Deliver safety training, new-hire orientations, toolbox talks, and maintain training records.
• Oversee environmental compliance, including spills, waste, chemicals, fuel storage, drilling fluids, and reclamation.
• Track HSE metrics and provide reports and recommendations to senior leadership and clients.
• Supervise and mentor HSE personnel and work closely with operations, project teams, contractors, and clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Mining, Geology, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of HSE experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership/management role.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA regulations and inspection practices.
• Current MSHA Part 46/48 training and MSHA-approved Instructor/Blue Card, or ability to obtain.
• Experience with incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and safety training.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, workers' compensation, and state requirements.
• Valid driver's license and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to travel frequently and work at remote project locations.

Preferred

• Mineral exploration drilling or mining experience.
• CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar certification.
• Multi-state HSE program experience.
• Experience working directly with MSHA inspectors.
• Environmental permitting, spill prevention, reclamation, or land-disturbance experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish.

Work Environment

This is a field-based, safety-sensitive position requiring frequent travel to remote drilling locations. The role may involve extended shifts, rotations, weekends, outdoor work in challenging conditions, and after-hours emergency response.
