About the role
The ENTRY PSR I/Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) helps with patient care by greeting patients upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. This individual will also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. The ENTRY PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding the scheduled procedure in a safe and accurate manner.
The role focuses on excellence in customer care, process skills, and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. The impact of this individual is crucial to maintaining the integrity of the lobby and ensuring all patients receive the expected level of service.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, this position performs daily activities accurately and on time, maintains a safe and professional environment, and keeps required records and documentation. This is primarily a Lobby Greeter position to help patients check in at the kiosk and make them feel comfortable while waiting. The role may also fill in for breaks and cover staffing shortages in the draw room.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and address their questions or concerns with care and compassion.
- Maintain the integrity of the waiting area.
- Assist with patient check-ins via self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
- Cover breaks and staffing shortages, including performing phlebotomy duties when needed.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Utilize phlebotomy skills to grow within the company.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required, no exceptions).
- Phlebotomy experience is required, even if just an internship/externship to learn the basics.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience (e.g., retail, home health aide).
- Ability to handle patients with care and compassion.
- Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room to cover breaks.
- Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and every Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
