ENTRY Phlebotomist

About the role

The ENTRY PSR I/Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) assists with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. They also help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Helps with patient care by greeting them upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion.
• Maintains the integrity of the waiting area.
• Utilizes Phlebotomy skills to grow within the company.
• Explain what to expect to patients regarding the scheduled procedure for the patients in a safe and accurate manner.
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Maintains required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public in general.
• Fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, even if just an intern/externship to learn the basics.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of client facing customer service required (Retail, Home Health Aide, etc).
• Willingness to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Ability to perform with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
• Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
