Entry Level Woodworker
About the role
At RealCraft, we build solid wood doors by hand, and every door starts at the front of the shop. This role is where raw lumber becomes the legs, rails, panels, and jambs that our craftsmen turn into finished doors. You'll rough cut, mill down to size, and feed material toward the gluing station, learning the shop's rhythm from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Cut lumber for legs, rails, panels, window sticking, and posts, jambs, and headers.
- Rough cut material, then mill down step by step to finished dimension.
- Laminate for thickness and build barn doors, including glue ups.
- Unload trucks, organize lumber, take out bins and trash, change saw blades.
- Learn RealCraft's procedures and pivot quickly when leadership needs you elsewhere.
Requirements
- Good attitude, willing to learn, comfortable taking direction.
- Physically capable of standing, lifting, and moving material all shift.
- A plus: some experience with a table saw, chop saw, or tabletop planer.
- A high school diploma or GED.
Qualifications
$20-$23/hour, Monday through Friday, consistent hours.
Skills
None specifically listed, but a strong work ethic and genuine interest in learning the craft are important.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with RealCraft covering 80% of your medical premium.
- Simple IRA with 3% company match after six months.
- PTO starting day one, plus paid holidays and extra time off at Christmas.
- Work boot allowance, referral bonuses, and bridge toll reimbursement for Narrows commuters.
Pay
$20-$23/hour, Monday through Friday, consistent hours.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site in Gig Harbor. The work is physical: you'll be on your feet, lifting up to 75 lbs, and moving lumber through the shop.
How to apply
Submit your resume and tell us a little about yourself. No woodworking experience required, just a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning the craft.
