Entry-Level Water Resources Engineer – Remediation - Networking Event with AECOM – Boston, MA

About the role

AECOM is hosting an invitation-only hiring event in Boston on October 21‑22 for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027. The event includes a networking mixer on Wednesday evening and interviews on Thursday at the Boston office. AECOM is seeking an Entry‑Level Water Resources Engineer to be based in the Chelmsford, MA, Boston, MA, or New York, NY office, supporting the Remediation team within the Environment business line. The position is expected to begin June 2027 (flexible). The engineer will work with a diverse team delivering remediation consulting services in New England.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, construction, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and best management practices (BMPs), low impact development projects, and green infrastructure practices.
• Perform field work including environmental sampling and parameter collection, stormwater BMP inspection, BMP retrofit assessments, and stream evaluations.
• Prepare construction documents, engineering reports, and basic data and scientific documents regarding stormwater, water quality, watershed management, and BMPs.
• Support hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, and geospatial evaluations.
• Prepare written and graphic reports.
• Build analytic and design skills.
• Conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under supervision.
• Collect and analyze data under supervision.
• Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological/Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
