Responsibilities

  • Aiding the design team in preparing roadway drainage and stormwater designs.
  • Conducting hydrology and hydraulics design calculations and analyzing existing projects.
  • Collaborating with multiple utility owners, MDOT, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
  • Creating or modifying reports, specifications, plans, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
  • Carrying out design computations and preparing cost estimates for projects.
  • Supporting quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects.
  • Making occasional travel as part of the job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within six months of hire date if not already an EIT.
  • Relevant coursework in transportation and/or hydrology and hydraulics.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, contours, and drafting.
  • Experience in civil engineering internships.
  • Experience with utility coordination and design.
  • Experience with municipal engineering design.

Pay

$68,000 - $85,000 annually (actual compensation may vary)
