Entry-Level Water Resources Engineer

About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation team in Columbia, MD; Herndon, VA; or Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Assist the design team with preparation of roadway drainage and stormwater designs.
- Perform hydrology and hydraulics design calculations and analyze existing projects.
- Coordinate with multiple utility owners, MDOT, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects.
- Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects.
- Some travel will be required; a valid driver’s license is necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or a relevant field from an accredited college or university.
- EIT certification or ability to pass the FE exam within six months of hire.
- Transportation and/or hydrology and hydraulics related coursework.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have experience with any or all of the following:
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software.
- Reading engineering plans, contours, and drafting.
- Previous civil engineering internship.
- Utility coordination and design experience.
- Municipal engineering design experience.

Pay
Salary range: $68,000–$85,000 annually. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skill set, or location.
