About the role

Jacobs' Reno/Southwest-Central Water Resources team serves top clients in the Reno metropolitan area and along the Sierras. As a valued team member, you will work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver successful projects across all phases, including planning studies and master plans, modeling, alternatives evaluations, preliminary and final design, decision modeling and optimization, cost analysis, permitting, land acquisition, services during construction, and more.

Construction management responsibilities

This opening seeks someone interested or with a background in construction management engineering. Tasks include:

  • Draft construction work orders
  • Review of construction plans for quantity takeoffs
  • Field investigation in support of construction project development
  • Construction plan development
  • Coordinate with City agencies, contractors, and third parties in the preparation of construction assignments
  • Support the construction team to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved specifications and client quality standards
  • Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes

Business development

Every member of the team supports business development efforts and helps in the pursuit of new projects. Team members work directly with clients on the projects and tasks they are leading to develop long-term client relationships.

Work location & flexibility

Jacobs is supportive of the new future of work, with the flexibility to work remotely while still working closely with your team. This position requires in-person activities which will require the successful candidate to live within a commutable distance from our Reno, Nevada Office. Candidates must be local to the Northern Nevada area or plan to relocate themselves; this position does not provide relocation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or related engineering discipline from an ABET accredited University program
  • Interest in and understanding of water and construction related projects
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated, self-teaching, initiator
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) Certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with various software programs, which may include Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD (Civil 3D) or MicroStation
  • Experience with various water-related software programs
  • Desire to obtain your Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure within the next 5 years

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $58,656.00 to $88,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
