Entry Level Transportation Engineer – Mason City, Iowa

Responsibilities

• Roadway layout and design of streets and highways for state, county and municipal roadways.
• Analysis and design of rural and urban roadway drainage systems.
• Perform other design-related tasks, such as quantity and geometric calculations, grading plans, and utility layouts.
• Develop 2-D and 3-D models using MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
• Provide oversight of CADD technicians to verify work is done properly and accurately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• E.I. certification or ability to take the F.E. exam within 6 months.
• 0-4 years of experience in transportation design.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Experience with Microstation, Geopak or OpenRoads.
• Knowledge of Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) specifications and procedures is a plus.
