Entry Level Traffic Designer / Engineer
What You Will Do
GFT is seeking an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation team in either our Owings Mills, Towson, or Fairfax locations. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our office.
Working on the roadway team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. - Primarily perform analysis and design activities on traffic projects
- May be required to assist other departments as needed
- Projects will primarily be located in the mid-Atlantic region but may also include occasional assignments for projects outside of the region
What You Will Bring To Our Firm
- Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or related field required, focus in Traffic preferred
- 0 to three (3) years’ experience in transportation and/or traffic analysis, engineering and design to include maintenance of traffic, signing, markings and signals; previous internship or co-op preferred
- Engineer in Training (EIT) strongly desired
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation strongly desired
- Experience with HCS, VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic and Sidra software desired
- Experience with travel demand model software such as Cube considered a plus
- Experience with Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) considered a plus
- Innovative, strong work ethic and desire to learn and grow professionally
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously both independently and as an integral part of a design team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
