Entry-Level Traffic Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Aid in the planning, design, and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct traffic analysis for traffic impact studies.
• Utilize engineering equipment and design software (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.) to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics.
• Write and/or review draft reports including traffic impact studies and parking studies.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-2 years of work-related experience.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• EIT certification, or current registration for FE exam preferred.
• Prior related internship or professional experience.
• Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or SoftDesk civil software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.

About the Role

Langan is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer to join its collaborative team in Jacksonville, FL, Orlando, FL, or Tampa, FL. This position involves assisting with the planning, design, and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects in a cross-disciplinary learning environment.

Requirements

• Graduate of a four-year college or university with a major in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 0-2 years of work-related experience.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License or current registration for FE exam.
• Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and MUTCD.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or SoftDesk civil software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing with reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits.

Skills
